As a human being it keeps me up at night … knowing that there are over 6,000 youth without a safe place to sleep in Los Angeles County, and another 3,500 in Bay Area!

Did you know that …
Close to 1/3 of all homeless youth in the US are in CA?
Close to 50% of homeless youth we work with at the Cov are former foster youth?
Less than 3% of shelter beds in California are designated for young people ?
70% of homeless youth are victims of violent crimes during their time on the streets?

That’s why on November 15th, I’ll be “Sleeping Out” in Hollywood to raise funds and awareness for Covenant House California. For one night, I will sleep outside on a piece of cardboard, to show our youth how much I care. The beauty of this fundraiser is that 100% of the money goes directly to serving the youth who call the Cov home.
$100 will provide for one night of safe shelter and three hot meals for a homeless youth.
$250 will pay for a homeless youth’s much needed medical exam.
$500 will pay for 90 days of nutritious food for one young person.
$1,000 will pay for food, water, blankets and gas for our Outreach van to support 100 youth living on the street during the holidays.
$2,500 will provide the critical Independent Living Skills program for a youth in our Transitional Housing Program.
$5,000 will pay for 6-months of rent and services for youth in our Supportive Apartments Program.
