Sleeping Out in the Storm to Help End Youth Homelessness in Los Angeles

My 14th Annual Covenant House California Sleep Out

Last week, I experienced one of the most powerful nights of my life — my 14th annual Sleep Out with Covenant House California, held right here on the streets of Hollywood.

What made this year especially unforgettable?
It happened during one of the coldest and stormiest nights Los Angeles has seen in years. Thunder, lightning, pouring rain, freezing winds — nature delivered it all. And yet, with every shiver and every gust of wind, the purpose of the night became even clearer:

Thousands of young people in our city face these conditions — not for one night, but every night.

As someone who has spent more than three decades as a Beverly Hills real estate agent, helping people find beautiful homes and extraordinary spaces across Los Angeles, I’m constantly reminded that “home” is more than a luxury — it’s the foundation of safety, dignity, and stability. And while my daily work revolves around luxury real estate, my heart remains deeply connected to the young people in our city who don’t yet have a safe place to call home.

Why I Sleep Out Each Year

For over 20 years, I’ve proudly supported Covenant House California and served on its Board of Directors. Their mission is one I believe in with my whole heart. Covenant House provides:

  • Safe shelter

  • Warm meals

  • Medical and mental health support

  • Education

  • Job training

  • Long-term housing solutions

  • A path toward a hopeful future

Since 2011, the Sleep Out movement has raised over $10.3 million, funding these life-changing services and transforming countless young lives. Hearing the success stories each year — young people who have overcome extraordinary challenges and gone on to thrive — is what keeps me returning to Sleep Out every November.

A Night to Remember

Sleeping outside in the pouring rain, layered in jackets and wrapped in a damp sleeping bag, I felt a renewed sense of purpose. This was a small glimpse into what homeless youth experience daily — but even then, I knew I had a home to return to in the morning. They often do not.

That contrast is precisely why this mission matters so deeply.

We’re Still Raising Funds — And You Can Help

If you feel moved to support Covenant House California and help us continue providing shelter, safety, and hope to youth experiencing homelessness, I would be truly grateful.

Every contribution — whether $10 or $1,000 — directly impacts a young person’s life and helps them move toward stability and independence.

Thank You for Supporting Our Community

Being a trusted Beverly Hills luxury real estate advisor is an honor. But what makes my work truly meaningful is being able to give back to the community that has given me so much. Together, we can help ensure every young person in Los Angeles has not only a roof over their head — but the dignity, opportunity, and hope they deserve.

Thank you for your compassion, kindness, and support.
